This is the Basic Hatton Coat of Arms
I have a much better Coat of Arms in color but just couldn't get a good scan. The original was very simple with just the Chevron and Garbs. The " Golden Hind" became a part of the Arms of Sir Christopher Hatton and is only found on that Crest. If you remember when Sir Francis Drake returned after the Armada he had renamed his ship the " Golden Hind" after his friend in court Sir Christpher Hatton. Sir Christopher  was very helpful and invested in his venture. The Coat of Arms of Sir Christopher Hatton is much more elaborate then the one you see here.
The meaning behind the various symbols. The Coat of Arms contains these colors; Blue- for Truth and Loyality, Red- for Military Fortitude, The Chevron given the same as a Medal for Protection. Garbs- Fertility and Abundance, Gold-Generosity and Elevation of Mind.
Golden Hind-is only present in the Hatton Coat of Arms. Sir Francis Drake renamed his ship the Golden Hind out of respect to Sir Christopher Hatton who was very helpful in securing the funds for Drakes' attack on the Spanish Fleet.
Vice Coat of Arms-English-Colors are Whte for Peace and Loyality, Stags Head, A person who sought a solitary life, Black Cross-Christian Faith and Stability.t.
The Crest and Coat of Arms may be different within families, but the main symbols remain. John Hatton had the Garbs but not the Chevron. The original had a Blue Background. The color became Azure. Sons often added to the Crest symbolizing their own accomplishments.
